Monroe Writes!

Georgia Writers’ Project and Your Pie Monroe want to celebrate your writing! This free, all-ages contest welcomes writers of short stories and poems, and is open from 5 PM on Monday, September 16 to 9 PM, October 21. Drop 1-12 pages of your best work off at the Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts, the Monroe public library, or the Story Shop, or apply here. Our judges will choose a winner in three categories: kids, teens, and adults.

The winning pieces will be published in the Monroe Local. Winners will receive a prize from a local business or artist, and will have the chance to perform their work as part of GWP’s public reading series on Monday, November 4. Entry is free!

Your work will be read by local judges. Drop off your submission and fill out your entry form at the MWCA, the library, or the Story Shop, or submit here.
